Ted Newman
With over forty years of information design experience and twenty five years in on-line content delivery. I have successfully undertaken a wide range of assignments in the UK’s public and private sectors, specialising in graphic design, illustration, interface design, navigational architecture, and implementation methodology for different media channels.
History
My Story and Skills
I joined SEED as a Graphic Designer/Technical Illustrator, and for fourteen years produced a wide range of technical illustrations, concept artwork and other graphics using the full range of traditional artist’s, and CAD techniques.
I was the key CBT designer and pioneered many leading-edge design and presentation solutions using a variety of development tools. My work at SEED was mainly for Government and military clients, encompassing land, sea, air and communications. I initiated and managed my own projects, liaising with clients and subcontractors, maintaining quality and deadlines to ISO 9001. I am able to cross-pollinate tools, techniques and approaches to solve the unique design and presentation challenges that arise in today’s fast-changing world. I frequently pioneered the introduction of new technologies into SEED’s portfolio of services.

After leaving SEED I started Newman Design Ltd and worked as a free lance designer and moved mainly into the digital world with internet delivery the main driver for nearly all my projects. I produced eight in-house animations for the BBC, a Worcester Bosch Technical CDROM and the VW Commercial Vehicles web site. I also won a contract to work within the Defence Science Technology Laboratory (Dstl) web team, where I successfully delivered many projects over the ten years I was there.
